ETHOS AND VALUES
We intend to promote the pupil’s personal, social, spiritual and moral development. Hence, both Religious Education as well as Personal and Social Education form an integral part of the curriculum.
Whilst we do not wish to publish a list of rules, we expect high standards of behavior from children. Good manners, kindness and consideration for all others are very important. We expect that the parents will cooperate with us to promote these ideals.
It is our overall aim that the children in our care will develop a high level of self-discipline, maturity and selflessness.
Sometimes, children need strong guidance and even some form of loss of privilege, denial of playtime or a severe reprimand. Help is sought from parents in case of persistent anti – social behaviors.
School uniform is mandatory for children in the Nursery and elementary school and parents are expected to comply with the details required in order to maintain standards. No jewelry of any type is allowed in school except studded or small ear-rings with lock for girls. All items of clothing and shoes must be marked legibly with the child’s name to avoid mix-up when children change for activities.
Children in the pre-school department who do not wear uniforms should wear comfortable washable clothes and footwear, which is easy for the child to manage on his own.
- Parents should notify the school where there is change of address or telephone number. Record update forms are sent out twice a year for parents to upgrade their records if necessary.
- The school should be notified by a phone call or in writing if a different person is picking up the child from school. Otherwise the child will not be released.
Lunch is optional at an affordable cost (contact the school). Parents should inform school if the child has any special dietary requirements or allergies for medical reasons.Sweets, chocolate and fizzy drinks are disallowed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We solicit that parents extend this culture at home on these days and even more.
