History of the School

Mrs. H.R Obalade

The School was established in the year 2005 by Mrs. Hannah Royeke Obalade. It was born out of a divine vision to provide holistic Christian tuition which emphasizes a balanced combination of Intellectual knowledge and sound moral ethos.

The Montessori method of education was specifically adopted with the aim of helping children build a solid educational foundation for life-long learning. Grande OakBridge Montessori School opened to the public on Saturday, 6th of August 2006 with her maiden open house. She was formally declared open by Dn. Adeyinka Obalade, on Saturday 10th of September 2005.

The school academic year started on Monday 12th September, 2005 for the 2005/2006 academic year session with Master Chukwudi Mario Ikwuemes, the first creche pupil on the admission list. The pioneer pupils for the Nursery department were Miss Blossom and Destiny Iheakanwa registered on Tuesday 4th October, 2005. The first set of pupils for the primary section were Master Banji and Miss Kikelomo registered on Thursday 6th October, 2005. Today, through the Grace of God, the school has grown in leaps and bounds.

academic excellence and high moral standards for children aged 3 months to 11 years. The School is duly registered with the Ministry of Education of Lagos State Government.
The school enrolment has been on the rise due to the commitment to the total development of the enrolled children, diligence and creativity.

Many of the outputs of the school are placed on scholarships in top secondary schools due to the foundation they have received for excellent performance.
In addition to this, the school makes conscious effort to offer scholarships and significant discounts to motherless children in order to make societal impact.
Grande Oakbridge Montessori is located in Lekki area of Lagos. The school focuses on whole some tutelage of the child, using a blend of the Nigerian and British Curriculums. The curriculums are delivered by highly qualified and dedicated staff.

Furthermore, the facilities of the school include the usage of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to reinforce the children’s understanding of basic concepts, encourage independent learning, and motivate children whilst providing a constructive approach to education. Over the past 10 years, the school has been able to learn the ropes at providing quality education at competitive fees.
